Memac Ogilvy in Dubai was awarded the regional PR business for Turner Broadcasting System (TBS), a Time Warner company, according to a company statement.

“Our channels, Boomerang, TCM and Cartoon Network cater to varied audiences across the Middle East,” says Dima Boulos, regional director for the Middle East at TBS, in the statement. “With the appointment of Memac Ogilvy PR, we intend to pursue and grow our brand development initiatives in 2008 and onwards.”

Ogilvy’s first announcement on behalf of TBS was the launch of cartoon entertainment channel Boomerang in Arabic, and Arabic subtitled films on the Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel.

“These advancements are vital steps in further establishing and growing our already popular entertainment brands in an extremely important business territory,” says Boulos.
