The Middle East Communication Networks group of agencies in Dubai will support the World Wildlife Foundation’s Earth Hour being observed in the city on March 29, according to a company statement.

The list of agencies MCN owns or manages includes Fortune Promoseven, Lowe, Weber Shandwick, Universal Media, Initiative, Innovations, Magna, Promoseven 360 and Mint.

MCN employees will be asked to switch off all non-essential lights from 8-9 p.m on March 29.

The MCN agencies will be joining the “switch off” initiative with other major supporters including Dubai Municipality, Dubai International Financial Centre, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai World Trade Centre, Nakheel and Emaar.

“This isn’t just a bit of PR for us,” says Fadi Salameh, president and CEO of MCN, in the statement. “We are committed to Corporate Responsibility initiatives in a big way. This is the least we can do for our planet.”
