Two executives at OMD in Dubai have been promoted, as media network OMG positions itself for expansion and diversification.

General manager Shadi Kandil becomes managing director for OMD UAE, and deputy general manager Hisham Abi Nassif becomes regional executive director – group development at OMG.

The pair “have steered the company to a leading position in the UAE and the region,” says a release. “They have also successfully weathered the challenging market conditions of last year, leading OMD to outperform the industry with a high single digit growth in 2009.”

“The success of a company depends on its people and the way in which the team is managed to propel the business forward in challenging times,” says Elie Khouri, regional managing director of Omnicom Media Group, the holding group of OMD and PHD. “Shadi and Hisham have contributed significantly to OMD’s success over the past three years and their performance now calls for a promotion, not only as a reward but also as a stepping stone to even greater heights.”
 
Both Kandil and Abi Nassif have already begun their newly created roles.
