Blip: a combination of a song and a short message. The way you create a blip is to first search for a song that you want to hear (or a song that you want your listeners to hear), then add a short message (under 150 characters), and submit it. Verb: to blip.
 
BlipFM: the micro-messaging service that allows users to tweet their favorite songs and create social interactions around music.
 
Blog (Weblog): A type of Web site, usually maintained by an individual and written in a journal format. Covers commentary, descriptions of events or other things interesting to the author. Often including text, pictures, audio or video. Usually invite feedback from readers.


Blogerati and Blogophiles
: A sophisticated blog author and readers.

Blogosphere: The world of blogs, blogging and bloggers.

Crowdsourcing: hijacking the talents, enthusiasm and energy of volunteers to aid the organization. Participants offer their time to contribute content, spread information or solve issues.
 

Flog: A fake blog. Often created by marketers, who aim to penetrate a certain market by faking consumer generated blogs. This tactic should be employed very carefully! Vigilant Web users like to out these fraudulent sites.

Props: Tokens of respect that can be given from one DJ to another - say for blipping a good song or being a good DJ in general.
 
RT: Retweet. Like forwarding, for Twitter. Not an official term, slang.
 
Social networking: the sharing of content, publishing of information and conversing of Web users who group together online through the use of tools and platforms.
 
Tweep: a Twitter friend.
 
Tweets: Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. Users can send and receive updates via the Twitter website, SMS, RSS (receive only), or through applications such as Tweetie, Twitterrific, Twitterfon, TweetDeck and Feedalizr. The service is free to use over the web.

Twitter: a social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets.
